About the Author

Alexia Blair


Alexia, one of Jamaica's few speech therapists, is a proud alumna of St. Andrew High School for Girls, Nazareth University, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In 2023, she founded Hello! Speech Therapy Ltd. to provide services for children and adults with communication and swallowing impairments.Recognizing the long wait times for speech therapy, Alexia launched the Unlock Your Voice program in February 2024. This initiative trains parents of children with speech delays, equipping them with techniques to support their child's development. In July 2025, she continued her pioneering work by hosting Camp Hello!, Jamaica's first-ever summer camp for children with complex communication needs.Her entrepreneurial and social efforts were recognized at the 2024 Prime Minister’s Youth Awards for Excellence, where she received an award in the Entrepreneurship/Social Entrepreneurship category.While Alexia has a passion for directly supporting children with speech, language, and swallowing disorders, she now aims to reach a broader audience. She seeks to foster social-emotional learning in all children through her new book series, The Wilson Brothers, starting with the first book, Learn to Share.
